Vintage Halloween 40% off in store.

A reshare of a lovely item by Mandy, showing the Vintage Hallowe'en plate that is still available in the sale. There is also a lovely halloween Quote and a few other goodies with this theme left in the Stampotique sections (Jo Capper-Sandon especially has a few lovely ones for this theme).

This week, I decided to have a play with my new stamps.... this wonderful Hallowe'en plate from Artistic Outpost. It's so delightful. I love Hallowe'en, and I envision lots of Hallowe'en inky goodness to come.

I have several house shape templates for ATC size houses, I chose this one to use for this hanging piece and enlarged the template to around a postcard size. I wanted the Hallowe'en girl to fit on nicely. Once I decided on the size, I then cut a house out of this background I made a while ago... it's made by tearing pieces of masking tape and sticking them randomly over the card, then swiping with distress inks.

I stamp all my images in Black Archival as I really love the blackness of it. It's a good idea to set the archival with a blast from the heat tool. I usually colour my images with watercolour pencils using a water brush

Jane's Countryside 40% off in the sale

(I just wanted to share this lovely item by Mandy again which shows the Plate Jane's Countryside in great use)

Good Morning Campers! (wet as per usual is sunny Blighty!)

This week I wanted to use these Jane Austen images from Artistic Outpost to create a card for a friend of mine who is having a bit of a hard time.

The background was made using a selection of the cosmic shimmer vintage colour misters. I love this palette of colours ~ very muted but lush.
The background script stamp is one from viva decor  and is stamped in Midnight Blue stazon

All the images are stamped using Versafine and coloured with watercolour pencils.

Have a wonderful week!

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

A very simple card today using some gorgeous and unusual stamps from Artistic Outpost starring Huckleberry Finn - a lovely bit of childhood reminiscence I think! I have used a very large card and simply stamped all of the images and text from the set in different shades of blue, making Huck the focal point.

Sounds like a Drag

infamous words sung by Rizzo in Grease.  Ideal for the title of this tag! The stamp is called Drag Queen and is from Lost Coast Designs

The tag is size 8 and began life with a coat of orange acrylic. I used cerise paint through a stencil/mask and sprayed through a normal alphabet stencil (that you can get from a stationers or a poundshop) The words in the corner are my minds eye

a little bit of ribbon and some beaded trim finish it off

Huckleberry Finn Tag Card By Carol Fox

I have made a tag card with my Dad in mind for Fathers Day tomorrow. Huck Finn is one of his favourite books and I thought being a tag it can double up as a bookmark when his done with standing it on the mantlepiece.
I used the Huck Finn set by Artistic Outpost. The main image is stamped onto water colour paper and coloured with a combination of Distress Markers and ink pads.
The background on the tag was done with copper paint and Broken China distress stain. All the stamping was done with Black archival ink.

Think and Wonder Card using Masks and Acrylic Paints

I made this card using a Gelli plate and acrylic paint background. Happy Daze have a great selection of masks you can use if you have a Gelli plate. Have a look here. I have used Artistic Outpost stamps from the Think and Wonder plate (the little Girl), Flower Market (the Butterflies), and Whimsical Melange (the frame).

Father's Day Tag

This week I've gone all masculine for Father's Day next Sunday.

I started with a size 8 tag, added a bit of torn text from a book. Then used Distress Stains to make a background. I added some acrylic paint through a mask for the next layer.
Then I did some stamping with Timber Brown Stazon with the 7gypsies venice set of stamps
I stamped the steampunk balloon onto some white card with black archival, cut it out and coloured with watercolour pencils. Once dry I glued into position with some glue and seal
Finally I edged the tag with some chalk ink and added a ribbon :-)

The Golden Age of Ballooning - Shower Gel Bottle

Today I have decorated another plastic shower gel bottle! I painted the bottle first with a selection of green and blue shades of acrylic paint.

I then used text stamps from the Artistic Outpost Paris Exposition and French Flight sets in the same shades of inks to create some depth before adding the main images from the sets in black.

I finished off with some glittering tiny beads around the neck of the bottle, applied with Glossy Accents.
