Steampunk Box By Carol Fox

This box began its crafting journey as one of these pencil boxes. By adding die cut cogs and Verday paint it has become old and battered looking.

Finishing it off with some rusty chain and a mixture of found and newer objects it now looks completely different.

There is still time to enter this months challenge of Steampunkery, all the details can be seen on the original BLOG post.

Domino Jewellery By Carol Fox

I wanted to try the Verday paint on some dominoes. I then sealed the images under a layer of resin. before I applied the Verday paint around their sides.

I aged some of the charms from the shop with the paint too, once the patina was dry I gave them a polish and this removed some of the patina gave them a lovely finish.
I added a small bale to the back for hanging.

The Golden Age of Ballooning

I made this card for this month's Steampunkery challenge. I used a selection of stamps from the Artistic Outpost French Flight and Paris Exposition sets, using different shades of ink to co-ordinate with the background paper. I stamped the man in the hot air balloon in the darkest shade of blue, as I wanted him to be the focal point. I finished it off with an Eco Green Chipboard Propeller, covered in gold embossing powder. I am sending this card to my brother for his birthday as I think it would be a good style for a man.

'Wheels of the Mind' by Annette Goatley (nettyscraftings)

Hi, am still struggling with the Steampunk theme but was not going to let it beat me.......armed with a Pizza Box and my mind in a whirl.....when wham inspiration hit me.......

Here are the results.  'Wheels of the Mind', using the Pizza Box as a base I designed this collage using Gesso, Distress Inks, Gold Paint Dabber, Viva Gold, Copper, Kobalt Blu and Masks, plus some doodling.   Stamps by Stampendous (Wonderland) and Suzi Blu, plus odds and ends from my stash.

Yep am pleased with the results.  (Just in case you don't recognise the Suzi Blu stamp its called La Belle, only I chopped her hat off)

Butterfly Girl Canvas

I made this canvas using the butterfly girl stamps from Lost Coast Designs which is a favourite of mine! I coloured the canvas with pink, peach, and turquoise acrylic paints and added text using the En Francais stamp by Prima. I finished it off with a couple of flat backed pearls and a homemade lace flower.

You are never alone with a Book

Good Monday greeting to y'all.

Meet Albert... he's a zetti stamp.... but not JUST a zetti ~ one of my all time fave zetti's. He's such a sweetheart and I'm sure you'll love him as much as me. Albert and I decided to make a bookmark this week, using a Dr Seuss quote.

The background of this bookmark is just watercolour that has been literally scribbled onto a piece of watercolour paper, water added , and then stamped on with this lush stamp I got in my DT package this month. yum-my!

No Glue Tag Pocket Book by Annette Goatley (nettyscraftings)

Hi, Happy Daze theme for this month's challenge is Steampunkery, something Mechanical or Steampunk themed.  Have to tell you this challenge really got me worried as all of you who know me...know I am rubbish at Steampunk and avoid it like the plague..............Mechanical.........avoid this as well.  So  armed with a few steampunk stamps from the Artistic Outpost Diesel Punk collection, cardstock from a Tim Holtz collection and my mechanical pencil went about making this Pocket Tag Book.

The Tags
Used the Dabber Resist Technique and over Stamping for the Tags.

If you would like to make one of these here are the instructions.

 (a) Fold card in quarters (b) then unfold and fold in 1/4" from right and left edges (c) fold in each corner to the first fold - do not go over the fold (d) fold each side to the centre, (e) flip paper over and fold 1/2" down towards you to from the top (f) fold paper in half and tuck the bottom corners into the top pocket corners (g) crease flat with a bone folder and fold in half to create a book.

Now am sure you can do a whole lot better than me with this steampunky theme so get those entries in as Moira is giving away a £15 voucher to the winner.  Take care and thank you for looking, Annette x

Body Clock

'Steampunk. Steampunk. Steampunk.', that's what has been going round in my head.
Steampunk things do not come naturally to me so thank goodness inspiration struck yesterday. When I think of Steampunk I think of cogs and then I think of clocks, so I thought of my body clock and how young my brain is even if the rest of me is starting to stop working, going grey or falling off!
I ended up making this ATC, hope you like it!
I started off with some white card and swooshed some purple and blue colour on with some Derwent Inktense pencils, added the die cut vintage lace at the bottom for some texture and to give my little lady something to stand on. Then applied a thin layer of gesso all over. I then stamped the Daisy and coloured, gesso'd again and stamped the checkerboard and gesso'd again. I stamped Lavendar Sprig, Butterfly, and Flying Girls, coloured and cut. For the body I melted some clear embossing powder and stuck some watch parts in. I then glued everything in place and wrote the sentiment.
Steampunk is the theme for the our challenge this month, here are the details, I hope you can join in with a chance to win £15!
Wishing you a happy day, Sam xxx

Thing-a-ma-jig

Here is a Steampunk-ish card I've made using this Zetti image. Technically it's not Steampunk but definitely looks like it's mechanical.
I've made my own background using sptritzers, I've added a couple of cog charms to the corner and I came across this 'thingamajig' stamp and thought it more than appropriate for this strange creature ;-)

This month's challenge theme is STeampunk  ~ Remember to use at least one item that is available from the Happy Daze shop to be eligible for the prize draw to win a £15.00 voucher to spend in the shop. The winner will be announced on the 1st of October.  Check out this blog post for details

A Lovely Day

I made this card with the Lovely Day stamps by Artistic Outpost. I used Spring and Summer limited edition distress inks using the wrinkle free distress technique, stamped the two images and cut them out. I used a piece of patterned paper on my card blank and picked out the colours within it to stamp some of the sayings from the stamp set in distress inks. Finally I added a die cut embossed flourish.

Hanging Beer Mat with Stampotique By Carol fox

An altered Beer Mat made into a little hanger by adding eyelets and a chain.

For the background I used The new Viva product from the shop through one of the crafters workshop masks. It was all then spritzed with color wash inks before I gave it a swish with Picket fence Distress stain, this makes all the colours go muted and very dreamy looking. I then gave it a coat of Glue and Seal. I added a tiny rub of inca gold to highlight the raised mask area.

The lavender sprig was stamped and coloured directly onto the background and the flower bits highlighted with stickles. The Dragonfly is stamped and then layered onto the background, again stickles were used on the wings. The word fly is stamped directly and then covered in Glossy Accents to make it pop a little bit. Trim was added to the bottom.
