Good Monday Morning to you all.
Here is my project for this week. I've used the girl in the frame (cut out) from the AO set Lovely Day. The peripheral stamps are all Tim Holtz ones.
I haven't made an arch for ages, so I begin by cutting an arch shape out of card. I layered the background stamps on the arch and then used a selection of sprays to create the background. I overstamped using gesso and a decorative stamp. Then stamped on the harlequin stamp.
Cut and coloured the girl stamp, added the words and some washi tape.

Huck Finn By Carol Fox
I have used the set of Huck Finn Stamps by Artistic Outpost for my blog post today.
The background on my canvas was done using a stencil and clear embossing powder over a painted background. The images were coloured using distress markers.
A skull charm and a bit of string finished the little assemblage.

It's Such a Perfect Day
It's been a lovely Spring day here today, perfect for Simple Pleasures such as a bike ride or picking flowers so I picked up the Lovely Day plate by Artistic Outpost for this little hessian 'canvas'. I coloured all the images with Distress Inks using the wrinkle free distress technique but removing some of the ink from the girl's face with bleach. The header above the image of the girl is from Whimsical Melange but I have overlaid it on one of the pediments from the new Tim Holtz die. I added a paper doily for a touch of white.

Full of Wonder
Happy Monday :-)
This week I've created a 3d tag... I've used the size 8 tag. I began by applying lots of layers of paints and stains to the tag until I liked the effect.
I coloured the blank seed packet from the AO set 'bloom and grow' with the same colours then edged with a dark chalk ink.
The boy image comes from the AO set 'think and wonder' I cut him out of the advert and then used what was left of the ad in the upper right corner.
The bicycle and the quote both come from the AO set 'lovely day'

Pride and Prejudice - Jane's Countryside
Today I have decorated one of those tiny papier mache book boxes you can buy very cheaply, using the Artistic Outpost 'Jane's Countryside' plate, and a charity shop copy of Pride and Prejudice. I painted the box inside and out with acrylic paint, mixing a couple of colours until I got a reddish claret colour like those old leather books you see. I then embossed all the edges and the spine bits with gold embossing powder. I cut the Pride and Prejudice wording from the page headings in the book and glued it to the spine.
I then gold embossed the pattern from the stamp set onto the front and back of the book, again to get the old worn and tooled leather book effect.
I stamped the Mansfield Park quote, 'To sit in the shade on a fine day is the most perfect refreshment' and arranged it around the edge of the book. I lined the inside of the book with book page, with the inside left showing a chapter heading.
I stamped the house and coloured it with Distress Inks. I stamped the Jane Austen figure, coloured her, and then cut her out, leaving a tab at the bottom. Finally I used the tab to glue her into position in front of her house.

Altered Jigsaw
Morning all,
I've got a whole stash of 'alterables' and as I'm trying to get a little collection of more 3d things to sell I thought I would alter this large size jigsaw piece. I have, in fact, made it into a fridge magnet.
I've used:
Old book pages ~ adhered to the jigsaw with glue and seal (matt)
Acrylic paints
Masks
My minds Eye stamps
Chalk ink (for edging)

Have a great week!

Soar to your Dreams by Carol Fox
Hello, I have a 6 x 4 postcard to share with you this week. I have used a variety of stamps from different companies. I have a full supply list at the end of this post if you scroll to the bottom you will find it with link to the items in the shop.
This is a quick run through of how I did it.
- Cut a piece of card to 6 x 4 inches and ink with walnut stain distress in.
- Used Brown Archival ink to stamp the background from the French flight plate to cover your card.
- Stamp the sprint quote from the Charles and Amelia plate as shown (cleaned the ink from the work fly at the end before stamping it). Fill in the word FLY using the large word from the same plate and positioning it as shown at the end of the quote.
- Mask off the quote and word and using black archival ink randomly stamp the cogs from the industrial background plate onto the stamped background.
- Cover the FLY word in glossy accents.
- Stamp the house and Icarus image onto white card, colour and attach to the postcard.
- Edge with a black dabber and draw lines with a pen and drawing ink.

If you enjoy making postcards there is a weekly challenge site called Sunday Postcard Art, I am going to link my postcard to it.

You'Re JuSt My TyPE!
I made this large shaped card using Secretary Pool by Artistic Outpost. I inked up the alphabet printing block using various shades of Distress Ink, stamping it multiple times across the card. I then stamped the scissors, pencils, staples, and paperclip in the same shades, using secondary stamping as well, and then did the same in black. I stamped the typewriter in black and cut it out and adhered it to the centre of the card. Finally I stamped the alphabet printing block in black, and cut out the letters to spell out 'My Type'. This would work well in vintage sepia tones, but I thought these bright Spring tones would be a bit of fun!

Paris in Spring
Morning all,
Seems like Spring may well be here at long last.
This week I've altered a coaster using the AO plate ~ Paris Exposition
You can't seem much of the gold on these photos, but I've used Turquoise and Gold sprays to create the background on the coaster. And finished with rubbings of gold

Have a wonderful week!

Seeds of Love
Good Bank Holiday to you all!
Seems my mojo has returneth to me this past week. I've been playing around with collaging stamped images together. I think it's worked really well.
I've used the Artistic Outpost 'bloom & grow' set, along with some old book page and corrugated card. Oh the balloon comes from the Paris Exposition set.
Thanks for looking
have a great week!
