Goodbye to Netty

As I am sure a lot of you now know this is the last month that Netty shall be sharing her lovely artwork with us on the Happy Daze Blog.
We are sad to see her go but due to family commitments she feel she no longer has the time that a DT can take up.
You can continue to keep up to date with her crafting on her personal blog.
It has been a pleasure to have been on the DT with you Netty and thank you for all your hard work.

The Beautiful Miranda

Hi, the beautiful Miranda is by Chapel Road Artstamps and you cannot help but love her can you....

Today am showing you a Christmas card made for my Mother plus a purse and a brooch made from this set of stamps.

Items used:  an embossed card, stamped on thick watercolour paper , then torn.  Painted in watercolours and Inka Gold,  added some stickles, then a drop of glossy accents for the shell like pendant.
This is a small calico purse which have had for ages.  Stamped with Archival  Coffee  and coloured with Inktense  Pencils, Turquoise Stickles and sealed.  The Brooch was made in the same way and covered in Glossy Accents.
Am sorry couldn't show you the front of the purse but forgot to take a photo of it before it was all wrapped up.

This is my last DT project for Happy Daze and am sorry to be leaving, but family commitments are taking more of my time these days.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year.  Hugs Annette xx

Christmas Hearts for the Tree

Hi, am loving these little Metal Angels from Happy Daze, you get 3 in a pack............mmmm not enough so have ordered another pack........lol

The Hearts are made from Air Drying Clay and were stamped while moist to give some texture.  Painted with white acrylic paint and Viva Inka Gold, then some gloss to protect them.   Added scraps of lace and some homemade silk flowers.

These little Hearts look lovely on our Christmas Tree as all the ornaments on the tree are of a Victorian style.  Hope you like them.  Take care of yourself, hugs Annette x

Happy and Bright

Hi you still have time to join in with the November Challenge 'Brighten up the Month'.  For my last DT offering this month have chosen to go really wild with the Brights............lol

Used the Girl with the Birdcage by Scrolls Work.  The background was achieved by Paint Squishings and the inner layer is Distress Ink Smearing.  Loving both these techniques.

This birthday card has already been sent to a dear blogging friend and she loved it......phew, thank goodness.

Wishing you a great week ahead, hugs Annette x

'' You outta be in Pictures '' by Annette Goatley

Hi, November's theme is Brighten up the Month.  The new stamps 'Picture Star' by Artistic Outpost certainly brightened up my month.

''Down on your heels
Up on your toes
That's the way to do the Varsity Drag.''

Stamped the images on Speciality Stamping Paper with Archival Coffee Ink, adding some Distress Inks to give an aged appearance, the rest is simply matting and layering.  A lovely simple card to make which I think looks quite glamorous despite not having any embellishments.

Looking forward to seeing your interpretation of the theme this month.
Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Hi, am still struggling with the Steampunk theme but was not going to let it beat me.......armed with a Pizza Box and my mind in a whirl.....when wham inspiration hit me.......

Here are the results.  'Wheels of the Mind', using the Pizza Box as a base I designed this collage using Gesso, Distress Inks, Gold Paint Dabber, Viva Gold, Copper, Kobalt Blu and Masks, plus some doodling.   Stamps by Stampendous (Wonderland) and Suzi Blu, plus odds and ends from my stash.

No Glue Tag Pocket Book by Annette Goatley (nettyscraftings)

Hi, Happy Daze theme for this month's challenge is Steampunkery, something Mechanical or Steampunk themed.  Have to tell you this challenge really got me worried as all of you who know me...know I am rubbish at Steampunk and avoid it like the plague..............Mechanical.........avoid this as well.  So  armed with a few steampunk stamps from the Artistic Outpost Diesel Punk collection, cardstock from a Tim Holtz collection and my mechanical pencil went about making this Pocket Tag Book.

The Tags
Used the Dabber Resist Technique and over Stamping for the Tags.

If you would like to make one of these here are the instructions.

 (a) Fold card in quarters (b) then unfold and fold in 1/4" from right and left edges (c) fold in each corner to the first fold - do not go over the fold (d) fold each side to the centre, (e) flip paper over and fold 1/2" down towards you to from the top (f) fold paper in half and tuck the bottom corners into the top pocket corners (g) crease flat with a bone folder and fold in half to create a book.

Now am sure you can do a whole lot better than me with this steampunky theme so get those entries in as Moira is giving away a £15 voucher to the winner.  Take care and thank you for looking, Annette x

' Le Jardin ' - Embossing on Vellum by Annette Goatley

Hi,  have to say am loving my new stamp by Teesha Moore and am really having great fun with it.  The best £2 have ever spent.

I am probably the only crafter left on the planet that has never run an embossing folder through vellum..............lol, but am loving the results.

Keeping with the theme this month of Circles I created this quirky flower card with its posh title, well its posh to me.............. the vellum is attached to the card with dabs of Silicone Glue and I dare you to spot where..............mmmmm    bet somebody will............lol

OK, so nobody is perfect............... looking forward to seeing your designs for this fab challenge.  Have a smashing Sunday and take care of yourselves.  Hugs Annette x

' Circle of Life ' an ATC by Annette Goatley

The focus this month is on The Olympic Rings, actually anything with Circles works for us here at Happy Daze.  It got me thinking about the Circle of Life, not the song from The Lion King although thats a fab song but the actual journey of life from beginning to the end.

Products used:  Distress Inks, Stickles, Paint Dabber and a Bottle Top.   Stamps  by  Teesha Moore and Scrolls Work.

We are so lucky that we can express ourselves through the crafting/art medium which reveals many layers of our character.  Oooh am getting a bit deep here, but believe me if I was to explain all my reasons for creating this ATC you would drop off to sleep..............lol

Anyways we want to see how you  use circles in your projects, whether its journal pages, circle shaped cards etc, as long as theres a circle in it you have a chance to win a £15 voucher.

Wishing you a very Happy Sunday and take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Since last Sunday I have had a few emails asking if Stick and Stickette got Married......well they did on Thursday

Unfortunately the video doesn't work properly since Stick's brother Stuck messed it up.

'Two Sticks'  Rubber Stamp is by Stampotique

They didn't invite me to the Wedding (which I have to say quite miffed me off)  they wanted a photograph of themselves outside their new home.

Stick wanted to carry Stickette over the threshold, then realised he had'nt any arms.  Yep I could have drawn him some, but then remembered he had left me off the Guest List..........mmmmmmmm Revenge is Sweet.............lol

Looking forward to seeing your creations for the challenge this month.
Take care, hugs Annette x

A Holiday Romance and going Cubist - by Annette Goatley

We all love to read a good holiday romance and this is no exception.

Stick and Stickette met on holiday in Portsmouth and it was love at first sight.......aaaaaaahhhhh.
One evening on the way home after a gorgeous meal down at the Wharf,  Stick proposed to her......and of course she said yes.

No date for the wedding has been set yet, but in anticipation I have made this label for their honeymoon luggage as am sure they will need one, don't you ?

Formula for the tag is a brayered background, Chicken wire screen, acrylic paint, distress inks, Stickles and the stamp Two Sticks is by Stampotique.

CUBIST SILHOUETTES

Plus I snuck in a sneaky one mainly because I adore the colors.  Bought this stamp by Lost Coast Design quite a while ago now but had only stamped her in Sepia.  Stamping her various colors gave her a new lease of life.  Hope you like her like this.

Take care of yourselves and will see you soon, Annette x

' Home Sweet Home ' by Annette Goatley (nettyscraftings)

Hi, for my second project this month for Happy Daze, I chose to alter a Black Ikea Photo Frame, you know the ones I mean..........the cheapy plasticky ones.

Products used Suzi Blu -  La Belle stamp, gesso, acrylic paints, serviette, patterned paper, watercolour paints, multi matt medium  and bits from my stash.

Am so in love with this Suzi Blu -  La Belle stamp as she is so versatile.  If you remember on 3rd June when I used her last I cut off her hat and gave her a bandana.  This time have paper pieced her hat, I have many looks in mind for this fab stamp she is now available at the Happy Daze online shop.

Wishing you a happy and crafty week, Hugs Annette xx
