Steampunk Box By Carol Fox

This box began its crafting journey as one of these pencil boxes. By adding die cut cogs and Verday paint it has become old and battered looking.

Finishing it off with some rusty chain and a mixture of found and newer objects it now looks completely different.

There is still time to enter this months challenge of Steampunkery, all the details can be seen on the original BLOG post.

Domino Jewellery By Carol Fox

I wanted to try the Verday paint on some dominoes. I then sealed the images under a layer of resin. before I applied the Verday paint around their sides.

I aged some of the charms from the shop with the paint too, once the patina was dry I gave them a polish and this removed some of the patina gave them a lovely finish.
I added a small bale to the back for hanging.

Round Altered Box By Carol Fox

I have altered a smaller sized cheese box using Copper Viva ferro paint through a mask to give some texture to the box lid. It was then painted with Verday paints. The "fly" word is by Stampotique.

As this is round it fits perfectly in with the challenge theme this month. For full details of the challenge have a look at the blog post HERE.

Tea For Two By Moira Sutton

I have used Verday Paints on these two ceramic cups. On the Bluey one I used mainly copper and brass which go blue, and on the rusty one I have used mainly brass and Iron which give this lovely rusty effect.

You can achieve lot of interesting results with these paints by using the different colours on the same piece. If you don't like the colour just add more layers, but wait until the first one is dry or it will not give you the lovely effect you want.

I thought these cups fitted in well with out Olympic Circle theme this month, for full detail is this months challenge and details of how to enter see the challenge blog post HERE.

Chunky Wooden ATC, Trying Something New By Carol Fox

I have fancied trying one of these ever since I first saw one a couple of years ago. They now seem to be everywhere so I figured it was time to actually getting around to doing one.
The wooden blocks are ATC sized 2.5 x 3.5 inches, they vary from the normal ATC in that they are wooden and 1.5 inches deep.
I have altered this one in a steampunk style. I covered all the sides apart from the front in Ten Second Studio Metal. I had first run this through my big shot using a cuttle bug steampunk plate, I then lightly sanded the texture to give it an aged appearance and to highlight the pattern. I stuck this to the block with The Crafters Pick Ulitmate Glue , this is the perfect glue for this as it just seems to fuse the metal to the wood.

The propeller goes round as it is fixed in place with a screw, these are in the shop but at the moment they are sadly  out of stock .

The large knob on the top is from an old chest of draws that I got out of a skip for all the lovely hardware on it, this is lovely and aged with a great natural green patina finish. The lotto number is from an old set I picked up in a 2nd hand shop.

All the Tim Holtz Gears and spinners are available in the shop as are the other various charms and all the inks I have used.

The challenge this month to try something new or to use something new. All the details of the challenge and how to enter can be seen here.

Jewelley is my one of my Little Black Dresses by Moira Sutton

The challenege theme for Septemebr is "Little Black Dress" meanimg that stamp / technique / tool / material you can not live with out. I simply cannot reduce my loves to just 1 so in this post I'm featuring 2 - jewellery making and metal. The giant bottle top has a piece of Ten Second Studios metal which I've embossed with a Bingo pattern, a couple of charms from the Tim Holtz Ideaology Adornmnets Charms and some beadazzles complete it and it is filled with resin.

The domino has been coloured with Brilliance Ink which dries on dominoes if heat set. It has been over stamped in StazOn, and sealed with versamrk and clear embossing powder. A charm from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Adornments Charms completes it.

For details of how to enter the current "Little Black Dress" challenge" click the link in the box in the right hand column.
