Batty about Halloween

Here's my third and final Spider Girl ATC for this months Spooky challenge theme, totally inspired by the Dogs Trust slogan, ' A dog is for life, not just Christmas '. For this ATC I stepped away from the typical halloween colours and went for one of my favourite colour combinations, pink and turquoise. I made it using the same template as the other atc's this month and and hand drew the bat.
I do hope you like it, thanks for looking.
Wishing you a happy day, Sam xxx

Trick or Treat Sweetie Bag

I am really enjoying making Hallowe'en items and have made a little calico Trick or Treat Sweetie Bag for the 'Something Wicked this Way Comes' challenge theme. I coloured the little bag with Distress Stain in Mustard Seed and then stamped with words and cobweb from My Minds Eye Hallowe'en stamp set. The bottle and Witch's Potion label are from the Artistic Outpost Apothecary set which I also used for the shrink plastic bottle charm. I coloured the images with marker pens and finished off with a skull charm.

I thought that wasn't much of an offering for you on its own, so I also made a little feminine calico gift bag, using the background stamp from the Artistic Outpost 'Jane Austen's Countryside' in pink, and then adding the figure and the wording, 'You are a True Friend' in black. It's the perfect size for a little jewellery gift.

Trick or Trick?

Just lately I have fallen in love with ATC's all over again and just can't stop making them. Here's another featuring Spider Girl again, this time I've given her a pointy witches hat, simply cut out of black card and the stars stamped with white staz on. It's a distress ink background with some orange paint squished through a template, a shrink plastic star and the ground is another distress inked bit of paper which I embossed. It's very nice to stroke with lots of textures!. I couldn't resist giving her some green and yellow stripey socks.
Thanks for looking, wishing you a happy day, Sam xxx
Here's what I used:
Stampotique: Spider Girl and Jo's Star
Lost Coast Designs: Angel in Disguise (for the hat stars)
Distress Inks: Dusty Concorde and Brushed Corduroy
Crafters Workshop Template: Cherry Blossom
Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint: Altered Orange

Something wicked this way comes .... By Kate Crane

Hi there. Kate here again, with another spooky creation to fit in with the wonderful Halloween theme here on the Happy Daze blog. I had fun making this little ATC triptych, using bats from Halloween Cube 1, and adding wicked horns to Mervyn Boy!

I made the background using the wrinkle-free Distress technique, and then added some gory red circles using acrylic paint, allowing it to dribble down.

I found the full quote by Shakespeare (Macbeth of course!) in a vintage book of quotes, and added it as a finishing touch.

Supplies:

Distress inks in Crushed Olive, Vintage Photo,  Peacock Feathers
Grass by Jo Capper-Sandon for Stampotique originals
Halloween Cube 1  and Mervyn Boy by Daniel Torrente for Stampotique Originals

Spooky Apothecary Card

I made this card to co-ordinate with last week's Spooky Apothecary frame and used the same stamp sets, Apothecary by Artistic Outpost and the My Mind's Eye Hallowe'en set. I cut the pieces with the Tim Holtz Cabinet dies, embossing the orange layer for a little texture. I used a selection of the stamps from the sets, stamping in black and browns and masking the row of bottles before I stamped the larger bottle and the Poison wording.I sponged the stamped panel with Distress Inks. I finished off with some faux cobwebs and a shrink plastic stamped bottle.

I hope you will join in this month's challenge which is 'Something Wicked this Way Comes' - such a fun theme!

Me Wicked?

Fitting in with this months challenge theme I chose to make a spooky'ish ATC, I've been challenging myself lately to get more layers in to my makes, this is where the Crafters Workshop templates come in so handy, a quick swipe of modelling paste of paint and you have effortlessly added loads of detail and another layer. I thought Spider Girl would be perfect for this theme and here she is dangling a spider, I can't decide if she's teasing it by dangling it over a big drop or is getting ready to chase someone with it, hope it's not me as I REALLY don't like things with 8 legs!
Wishing you a happy day, Sam xxx

Spooky Apothecary

This month's challenge theme is 'Something Wicked This Way Comes', and I have made a spooky apothecary using the Artistic Outpost Apothecary stamps and the My Mind's Eye Hallowe'en set. I painted the wooden frame orange, added a crackle medium, and then painted it black, then added Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint and rubbed Gold Inka Gold over it with my finger. I cut a piece of card to fit the aperture and used a selection of the stamps in shades of black, brown, and orange, and then sponged with Distress Inks. I used the bottle from the Apothecary set to make a shrink plastic bottle which I curved slightly whilst warm for a little dimension. I added charms, some die cut paper pieces by Pink Paislee, and some cobwebs, and finished off with a skull broken off from a skeleton, with glossy accents dyed red for his eyes.

Pistols at Dawn

Morning Campers.....

My card this week features The Dueling Harlequins from Lost Coast. The card is 4 x 4 in square and the background is made with acrylics and spritzers as well as the Creative Expressions Vintage Games set. All stamping has been done in Black Archival

I think these Harlequins look slightly Edgar Allen Poe-esq.

Halloween Door Hanger By Carol Fox

This is a very quick project, 30 minutes tops. I have altered one of these wooden door hangers. I quickly painted it with Claudine Hellmuth paints, and then used images from the Artistic Outpost plate Fortune Teller to stamp onto it, masking as I went along. I highlighted the word with glossy accents and ran a line of black acrylic paint round the edges.

Off with his head ...By Kate Crane

Hi all. Kate here, and I'm very pleased to be here as a guest design team member for the month of october. And what a great month to be a guest here ... it's going to be a spooktacular month!

For my first creation I decided to use  combination of stamps by Teesha Moore (Zettiology) and Daniel Torrente Stampotique) however it turned out to be more gruesome than I intended ... it's a bit spooky even my my standards LOL! I really love this head from the Halloween cube, so I removed the head from the Teesha Moore stamp and gave it a new head ;-)

I created a background with Distress inks, and coloured my images with them too.

Don't forget, you can join in with the Halloween fun by joining the Happy Daze challenge here, and be in with a chance of winning of a voucher :-)

See you next week!
